Choosing UK Life Cover the Easy Way

Submitted By: David Thomson

There is a very easy way for you to obtain several quotes for UK life cover and it requires very little on your part other than giving a few details using your home computer. You can provide a specialist insurance broker with information on the type of life insurance you need and how much you want to protect and they will search with the top UK providers to find you the best deal. All you have to do then, from the comfort of your chair, is to choose which deal might be best for your circumstances.

Before providing the broker with this information you will have to decide on the type of life insurance you want. One of the cheapest and easiest ways of protecting your loved ones against your demise financially is to take out term life insurance. Term life insurance is taken out by taking a policy over a number of years which is defined at the time of taking out the insurance. You would also fix a sum for the amount you wanted to insure and this would be the sum your loved ones were paid if you should die before the policy reached its term. If you were to out live the policy then no payout would be made and the cover would just expire.

Whole life insurance would provide you with a sum of money if you surrender the policy or if you keep paying the premiums it would provide your loved ones with a lump sum after your death. The premiums for this type of policy are usually dearer than term life insurance.

When taking out UK life cover you would have to decide how much insurance you want to take out. As a rough guide you could take your annual salary and multiply this by at least 5. Of course you would have to take into account what outgoings there were each month and take any children into account. If you want to take out life insurance alongside a mortgage to cover the repayments then you could take insurance where the payout would decrease in line with the mortgage over time.

When taking out any kind of UK life cover it is essential that you read the key facts associated with the policy. There will be some in all insurance cover and if you do not read this then your loved ones might not be able to make a claim on the insurance after you are gone. When taking out life insurance the premiums for the cover will be based on many different factors. Your age and fitness are two of the most important of these with the younger you are the cheaper you can take out insurance for. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions you would also have to pay more for life cover then if you were healthy. Your height and weight will also be taken into account and even your occupation will be looked into. It is essential that you do tell the truth when asked any questions as the policy could be void if it is found that you have not been honest.

What Is Positive Self-development And Why Do I Need It?

Submitted By: Michelle Green

Answering the above questions will help you change any self-destructive habits. Self-development is the process of improving your mind and body to lead a healthy and stress-free life. It means taking responsibility for your self and working consciously to improve you and thereby your life.

There are four defining principles that lead to success of self-developmental endeavors. Truthfulness is one of them. It is crucial to take the blinders off and see who you really are, why you do the things that you do, and what is really happening in your life and how do you want to be in future. Admit your weaknesses and do whatever is needed to change them.

Analyzing and understanding your reactions and behavior to past experiences and to events that happen around you over which you have no control can do this. They will help you to peek into your inner-mind to know you better.

The other three principles are responsibility, commitment and inner strength. Taking responsibility means that you stop being a victim and laying the blame for the things you don’t like about your life on someone or something else. Instead, accept your problems and stand up for what you believe is right. Do what your mind says and stop worrying about what others will think of you.

Don’t let others have any kind of negative influence on you. Life isn’t free of challenges and adversities, and maybe you have had more than your fair share; but how you react to events is within your control. Taking responsibility means being willing to take the reins of change. It is only going to happen if you make it happen.

There are probably many things that you are committed to in life: your friends, your family, and your job. Now is the time to commit to your self. Take your commitment seriously and don’t let your self down.

In order to face the challenges that lie ahead of you require inner strength. People who employ that strength don’t go out into the world thinking that everything is easy. On the contrary, they acknowledge that they are going to face some difficulties and they prepare themselves mentally to face it. This will help you get through difficult times.

Practicing the principles of honesty, responsibility, commitment, and inner strength are going to help you with every aspect of your life. Sports will help you to acquire and refine these qualities. It will also help you to be emotionally and mentally strong. You will not be bogged down by failures in life. You will learn it to take it in your stride.

Sports are an important part of self-development. It gives you the physical, mental and emotional strength to take on the world. It will give you the confidence to be who you are and what you want to be. Winning will give you a sense of achievement and a faith in yourself to do accomplish your dreams. The physical conditioning is taken care of by a healthy diet, strength-training exercises, aerobics and yoga.

Aerobic exercise promotes the production of enzymes that boost oxygen consumption and therefore the burning of calories while strength training is the activity that will help you to build muscle. A mix of the two is required for a healthy body. Yoga and mediation gives us the much-needed calmness to soothe your mind and to relieve all your stress and anxiety.

Thus, sports will help you to achieve self-development by toning your mind and body. It will give you the inner strength and belief to lead a positive and stress-free life. Practice safe training to get the most of your self-development and sport and life routines.

Right and Wrong - A Matter of Context

Submitted By: Steve Gillman

How do we determine right and wrong, and can we really capture them with philosophical rules or religious commandments? The answer to the first question is that we call something right or wrong according to whether or not it helps achieve our moral values. That makes the answer to the second part a definite no. There are no moral principles we can follow blindly.

To understand this, we could start with the intellectual exploration of why morality exists. But there is a simpler approach that gets to the heart of the matter. That's to start with a simple example or two of how and why moral rules sometimes fails us.

For example, suppose you found a child, or Jesus, or Buddha starving, next to a rich man's estate. You are poor yourself, and have nothing to offer of your own, but you see that there is plenty of food out on tables - leftovers from a banquet the wealthy man just had. It is made clear that you are not welcome to it, that it will be theft if you take it. Yet there is the child or Buddha or Jesus on the brink of death. Do you steal the food?

First, although most people would agree to the general moral principle that to steal is wrong, I think it's safe to say that most would also violate that rule in a case like this. Immediately, despite any moral training or commandments in our heads, we would feel that it is right to save the life of the starving person. I personally would go further, and say that if you valued the life of that person, it would be wrong or immoral to not steal the food.

Even those who don't agree with my view still probably feel that they would like to steal the food and help the starving person. Why is this? It is because the moral value of life is a higher value than that of protecting property rights. This doesn't mean that stealing is right, or that a moral principle of not stealing is wrong. It is simply the recognition that there is a hierarchy of values.

Lying, for example, is an action generally considered to be wrong by most moral systems. This is so because as humans we have seen the damage done to others and to society from too much dishonesty. In other words, the moral principle of honesty is about the preservation of relationships and civilized life. Those are the higher values upon which the rule against lying is based. But what if telling the truth violates those values?

The classic moral dilemma is this: A killer asks where your children are, intending to murder them. You have been trained to think that you should never lie, so what should you tell him? I am suggesting that there is no moral dilemma here, that you simply lie because it is the right thing to do. It is right because in this case it achieves the higher moral value: the preservation of the lives of your children.

Right And Wrong Exist Beyond Our Words

The important principles here are:

1. There are real values in the world (which means morality has real meaning).

2. Right and wrong actions (moral or immoral) are those that achieve or destroy those values.

3. All expressions of moral principles in words are imperfect (we are not infallible nor omniscient) and can conflict with one another.

4. When, in a given situation, a rule or moral principle is in opposition to a higher value, it must be dropped if we are to do the right or moral thing.

Notice that there is no moral dilemma here. We simply recognize that our words and the moral principles we develop using them are meant to serve us, not the other way around. To say it another way, right and wrong are a matter of context, and cannot be fully and permanently carved into a metaphorical rock using our fallible tools: our words.

Overcoming Desire and Dissatisfaction: The Winner’s Way

Submitted By: Vijay Raisinghani

The life of each human being, whether the primitive man or the ultra modern man, is comprised of one common element – Dissatisfaction with what he already has and the Desire for more in life. Actually, its like the two sides of the same coin. Dissatisfaction leads to desire and the unfulfillment of the desire leads to Dissatisfaction. So, its not possible to separate the two of them. Dissatisfaction and Desire go hand in hand.

A Dissatisfied mind is not at ease with itself, it yearns for more and wanders different places to find satisfaction. This quest of the Dissatisfied mind continues till it finds complete satisfaction and finally is at ease with itself.

Desire makes us uneasy and then we make efforts to fulfil those desires. Its like a thorn stuck in our body and until we don’t remove that thorn of desire, it just keeps itching and we feel the pain. When the desire has been fulfilled, we feel a sense of relief. We can see that its like a vicious circle, and we experience this cycle of pain-pleasure continuously in our lives.

But the relief comes at a cost, and the cost is the efforts that we have to put in to fulfil our desires. The efforts are very tiring and take up our precious time and energy, thus we are left off agitated and fatigued. Life is so short and we then feel whether we will be able to fulfil all our remaining desires. The list of unfulfilled desires also remains constant, when we have fulfilled one desire, we already have a few more in the list. So, this journey goes on endlessly, where the point of satisfaction and happiness keeps shifting forward like a mirage in the vast desert.

For a moment, lets just imagine how we would feel when all our desires have been fulfilled? What a feeling of relief and great satisfaction and happiness would accompany that moment. It’s a kingly feeling and a feeling that one has arrived to the point that he was yearning for ages. A sense of Bliss follows day and night. Nothing more to achieve now, final victory has been achieved.

We all want that we achieve such a point in our life. The point where Dissatisfaction and Desire bother us no more. And the good news is that there is a remedy and a means to be free of both of them, in one shot. Its achievable by each and every individual, and costs nothing. The secret is – Meditation. This single activity is enough to give us that state of being a perfect winner and the king of the world.

Why is it that I have praised Meditation so much? The reason is simple, it gives us the result of happiness and satisfaction instantly and we do not have to wait for a tomorrow to be in bliss. Meditation is like hard Cash and not like a promissory note. Meditation is the intelligent choice. Meditation places us far ahead of the competition and in fact, there is no more competition left. It gives us the joy of being independent and bliss flows from within us, so all dissatisfaction is gone.

Each moment of our life becomes a joy in itself, so all desires melt off automatically. Just like a stick of ice-cream melts in the hot sun, so do dissatisfaction and desires melt away under the cool rays of Meditation. They are nowhere to be found then.

Meditation can be practised by the use of various easy techniques. Simple instructions need to be followed and the results are amazing. In this modern age, its even more easy, as we have pre-recorded meditation CDs. It can be practised with leisure at our own convenience. One just starts to wonder then, was it me who was suffering all this displeasure in life? Meditation is the first and the last freedom from all sufferings.

How to Make Savings on Life Protection Insurance

Submitted By: David Thomson

To make savings on life protection insurance you would have to compare life insurance quotes and one of the easiest ways of doing so is to allow a specialist provider to search around on your behalf. A broker will be able to search with some of the top UK insurance providers to find you the best deals and then deliver the quotes to you so that you are able to find the most suitable insurance for your circumstances.

There are different types of life protection insurance so you would have to decide which type would be the most suitable for your needs. Often one of the cheapest forms of life insurance is term life cover. Term life insurance is taken out by insuring an agreed amount and paying premiums over so many years. During this time if the policyholder dies their loved ones are paid the lump sum which predefined at the time of taking out the cover. However if the policyholder outlives the policy then it simply expires and no payment is made.

Whole of life insurance does what it says on the tin and provides cover for the whole of your life. Because of this it is usually a more expensive way of taking out life insurance. The insurance would run as long as you paid the premiums and your loved ones would get a lump sum payment in the event of your death.

Life insurance can also be taken out to coincide with a mortgage for example. Life cover taken out this way would reduce in line with the amount you owe on the mortgage.

The cost of life insurance will take into account many different factors which includes your age and health at the time of applying for the protection. You will be asked questions regarding your state of health and family history relating to illnesses in the family. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions then you would more than likely have to payout more in insurance premiums than someone would who is fit and healthy. The younger you are when you take out an insurance policy on your life the cheaper you will get the premiums.

You can help to keep the cost of life insurance down by making sure you are as fit and healthy as possible. Maintaining your weight to height ratio can help as if you are seen as being overweight this will have an effect on your premiums. If you smoke it can seriously boost up the cost of life insurance compared to someone who does not smoke. The same would go if you drink every night compared to someone who is teetotal.

How much you choose to take out the policy for would also reflect on the cost on life insurance. When deciding how much life protection insurance to take out you would have to take into account factors such as children, whether you have a mortgage or other loan commitments and the rate of inflation. As a rough guide you can take your annual salary and multiply this by around 5 times. This would at least provide your family with an income while they managed to get onto their feet.

Life Cover For Peace of Mind For Your Loved Ones

Submitted By: David Thomson

While none of like to contemplate our death, life cover provides enormous peace of mind for your loved ones in the event that you should die. It would provide them with financial security during a time when they need it the most and if you compare quotes you are able to make great savings on insurance. One of the easiest ways to do this is to allow a specialist broker to search on your behalf and deliver quotes which you are then able to compare at your own leisure.

Before the broker can search for quotes for you, you would need to choose the type of insurance most suitable as there are different life insurance policies available. You would also have to decide how much to cover to take out and this would be the sum of money your family would receive in the event of your passing.

When working out the premiums for life cover providers will take many factors into account. Your age will go towards determining how much you would pay for life insurance with the younger you are the cheaper cover will be. Whether you have any pre-existing medical conditions would also go towards determining how much you would pay for the life insurance. Typically, if you were to suffer from such as diabetes or asthma then you could have to payout more for life insurance. Your family history would also be taken into account when it came to medical conditions as would your height and weight.

Those who smoke will usually pay more for their life insurance than those who do not and if you are teetotal, generally you will also get cheaper insurance than those who drink more than then Government recommended amounts.

Among the cheapest forms of taking out life cover is to consider term life insurance. You decide how much insurance you want to take out and pay the premium over a certain period of time. If you were to expire during this time your loved ones would get the lump sum you elected to receive at the time you took out the cover (this is called the ‘sum insured’). However if you out live the policy it would simply expire and no payment is made.

The amount of life cover you would take out would depend on your own individual circumstances. But among the considerations, you would have to take into account whether there is a mortgage to pay off, how much other bills add up to each month and if there are any children that need taking care of. A good indication as to how much you should insure would be to take your annual salary and multiply this by the number of years you wish your family to be protected, taking into account the rate of inflation.

This would at least allow you to provide for your family for some time after your death which allows them to get back on their feet again while coping with their loss.

Social Phobia - Get Rid Of Your Phobia With Real Life Desensitization!

Submitted By: Bertil Hjert

Phobias are fears pure and simple. You are afraid of small spaces, confined spaces, high places, dogs, elevators, or alligators. A fear becomes a phobia when it irrationally interferes with your life and causes you to avoid people, places and things because of that fear.

You don´t go to work because you have to ride the elevator; you won´t drive your children to their friend´s house because you´re afraid of your car. A great way to stop these fears from interfering with your lifestyle is to desensitize yourself to the feelings these situations create with real life desensitization.

Real life desensitization or exposure therapy is a great way to confront the phobias or other anxiety problems that may be hampering your life. While this process is effective it can be very uncomfortable because you are gradually exposing yourself to that which you fear.

However, if you are able to endure the stages of discomfort, you will find you will no longer experience the uncontrollable dread you once did when getting on a bridge. Getting into a car or interacting with others.

It´s important to understand that real life desensitization or exposure therapy is a gradual process that can take years to complete. You need to set goals for yourself, baby steps that you can accomplish in conquering your fear.

Before you begin desensitizing yourself with real life situations and scenes, you will want to practice using your imagination first. It´s important that when you are exposing yourself either through your imagination or in real life to that which you fear that you take gradual steps.

For example, if you are afraid of the elevator, try breaking down your imagery desensitization and exposure therapy into the following steps. You can break any fear down into gradual steps that you can work on over the course of time.

1. Look at the elevator as it comes and goes on the first floor. Watch the doors open, watch them close, watch the elevator rise and return.

2. Stand in the elevator with someone you trust, keeping the doors open.

3. Stand in the elevator by yourself with the doors open.

4. Travel one floor up with your support person.

5. Travel in the elevator alone one floor but have someone you trust waiting where you will get off.

6. Travel two floors with someone you trust.

7. Travel two floors alone but have someone you trust waiting at the arrival floor.

8. Keep increasing the number of floors and repeating the process.

9. Travel up and down on the elevator by yourself.

You won´t be able to accomplish all of this in one day, one week, or even one month. Your psyche probably won´t let you. It´s taken a long time to foster and nurture the anxiety, so it will probably take a little while to break it down.

Don´t get impatient; the most important part of exposure therapy or imagery desensitization is commitment. Each time you complete one of the steps you will have conquered a little bit of your fear.

You will have to struggle through anxiety, dread, worry and other negative thoughts and physical reactions. Push through it but never take it too far. If the fear is just too great, stick with the previous step until you are fully comfortable. You never want to push yourself too far, it will make completing the next step in your process that much more difficult.

Now think of your phobia. What are you anxious about? Now think about the steps you need to complete to conquer that fear. Write a list and start working on it. Step by step. You will have conquered your fear sooner than you think and you will be amazed by the results.

What You Should Know About Life Cover

Submitted By: Chris Du Toit

Life cover is the general term for life assurance coverage. This type of coverage pays out in one lump sum to your family upon your death. Investing in life cover is something that every adult should consider, especially if you are the sole supporter of your family. The money received by your beneficiaries can be used to pay off outstanding debts and help your family get through a difficult time.

Don’t be afraid to shop around

As important as live cover is, you shouldn’t go with the very first company that you find. Shopping around is very important. Premiums between companies for the same policies can vary greatly. Fortunately, because of the Internet you can easily find many quotes from different companies without even leaving your house.

Look outside of the live cover offered by your employer

If your job comes with standard life cover, make sure to take that with a grain of salt. It may be a good place to start with but don’t stop your search there. Company-sponsored life cover plans normally don’t offer adequate coverage for you and your family. Make sure to get quotes from other companies to supplement or replace your workplace’s life cover.

Buy the right amount of coverage that you need

There is such a thing as too much life cover. If you’re struggling to make ends meet to pay your monthly premiums, you’ve got too much coverage. Determine how much your family would really need in the event of your death and buy accordingly.

Buy life cover early

You may think that life cover isn’t something you have to worry about until you are much older. But if you wait, you’ll actually be paying more per month than you would if you started young. Buy into a life cover policy as soon as you can. Even if you can’t afford much now, go ahead and get a small policy. You can always update later.

Health equals a better policy

If you’re relatively healthy and are free of any long term diseases, you will get a great rate on your life cover policy. In addition to long term diseases, you will also pay a higher rate if you have any conditions that shorten your life span. Smokers, people who are overweight and those with bad driving records will pay more for life cover.

Keep your application honest

You must be completely honest on your life cover application. Don’t think for a second that you can get away with leaving out a medical condition in order to get a better rate. If you are found out, your insurance company can cancel your policy and fine you.

Review your live cover policy from time to time

Make sure to review your policy on a regular basis and look at it in terms of your overall financial plan. If you have a major life changing event, like the birth of a child, you need to adjust your policy. Talk with your financial advisor to make sure that you don’t have too much or too little life cover for your circumstances.

Target an Improved Life

Submitted By: Mike Cosentino

If you are wondering what to aim for in life, then aimed for an improved life itself. To get you going here is a cookbook set of steps that you can apply to reach happiness on your life goal list.

A. Broaden your horizons

People who could be benefiting from a much-improved life are often blocking the progress by closing their minds to the different possibilities. Sometimes it is a belief that they cannot do something or fear the possibility will be denied to them, when the opportunity is real and the chance of success excellent. Yet in the same way that people have been taught not to question, not to step outside, they can also re-learn and acquire that notion of going beyond these artificial limits.

B. Focus on the present

The present is where you are and what is happening. The past was yesterday; what’s done is done. The future has yet to come and anything can happen. By focusing on the present, you can apply the best method for succeeding in making a better life: right here, right now with what you have available.

C. A clear view

Practice taking an objective, detached view of your situation and where you want to go. Even though enthusiasm and positive thinking are great qualities to have, they need to come after a clear view of the pros and cons of your current situation and what you might want to do about it. Be careful as well to avoid unwanted emotions often generated by past events, such as anger, sorrow or jealousy. They will not help you to understand in real terms what your potential is for a better life.

D. The vision

Build a detailed vision of what your new, improved life will look like. Don’t stint on the level of detail. The more real you can make it in your mind mapping session, the more you will memorize it as a goal, and the more chance you will have of achieving it. You can start to get enthusiastic at this point, as long as you stay realistic.

E. Intuition as a secret weapon

You have two halves to your brain, a left half and a right half. So far, we’ve concentrated on the logical part, which is the left half. The right half, the creative and intuitive side, has a lot to offer as well. Sometimes, the logical approach can get bogged down in its own rationalizing. That’s when the intuitive approach can get you out of the rut and catapult you forwards to new possibilities. It can be a very powerful tool if you give it a chance.

F. Be creative

You might get lucky on your way to a better life, but the best thing is to give luck a helping hand. By being creative, you’ll be able to expand on the vision of where you want to be and invent new ways of getting there if the old ways don’t work well enough. You’ll also be better positioned to use the law of attraction to manufacture your own opportunities to order.

Life Insurance Can be Found Cheaper Online

Submitted By: David Thomson

Life insurance offers so much more than being able to pay for the funeral costs after you have gone, although of course it would provide your loved ones with the money to pay for this. Life cover offers the peace of mind that at least after you are gone your family would be provided for when they needed it the most.

While life insurance would not ease the pain of losing a loved one it would provide them with money so that they would not be worrying about paying such bills as the mortgage, loan repayments and day to living expenses along with other bills that came into the home. It would allow those left behind the chance to come to terms with their loss and to get back on their feet again.

When considering how much life cover to take out you would of course have to take into account all of your outgoings and any others if you are the sole provider for your family. If your income was suddenly lost then your life insurance is one way of the family being able to cope financially. A good way of finding out how much life cover to take out would be to take your annual salary and then multiply it by at least five times. Your family would then not have to worry about bills for some time to come after your death. How much you choose to insure your life for would go towards how much the premiums would cost each month.

There are different types of life cover so you would have to decide which policy might be the most suitable for your needs. One of the simplest and cheapest forms of cover would be level term insurance. You would take out the protection over a certain amount of years and pay the premium during this time and if you should die during this time the sum you had insured would be paid out. If you outlived the policy there would be no payout and you would have to renew your life insurance cover.

You could also choose to take out decreasing term insurance and the amount that would be payable upon your death would decrease over the years. This is an excellent way of taking out life cover to coincide with a mortgage. As the mortgage decreases over the years then so would the payout on the life cover.

Whole life insurance can be taken and as long as the premiums are maintained you would be guaranteed a payout. Usually the premiums are guaranteed not to increase for a set amount of time when you take out this type of policy and the protection can be taken out in different forms such as none profit, with profit and low cost whole life. All forms of life cover can be found cheaper if you choose to take out a policy online. One of the best ways to get several quotes for the type of insurance you require is to allow a specialist insurance broker to search around on your behalf and gather quotes together. You can then take your time and go over the key facts of the protection and choose the best deal for your needs.
